Architecture and the City, Design in Action
This year's Architecture and the City Festival will make you crawl, swing, bike, explore, leap and get covered in sand. Mark your calendars for a month of programs highlighting the value and necessity of PLAY in the Design Arts and how it can be applied to other disciplines! 
For the entire month of September San Francisco will be your inspiration playground. Engage with the local Design and Architecture community and experience Design in a myriad of ways throughout the city. Here some of the actions we recommend:
Mingle at the Opening Night Party; where yo can also drink, nibble, and network for an inspiring night of PLAY!
Ride a bike around the citywith the Bay Area Young Architects (BAYA) , to rediscover San Francisco's rich history of bygone amusement parks, their sites, ruins, and contemporary incarnations.
Watch documentaries and animated features from local and international filmmakers. This year’s Architecture + The City Festival film series will also include the animated short Me and My Moultonby Architect and Oscar winner Torill Kove (check out our interview with Torill Kove on the Novedge Blog). Toast to GOOD Design by joining The GOOD Design Challenge and Forum. During this event, Design Challenges meet their Designer match! Both the AIA SF and the Center for Architecture + Design(event organizers) believe that "Good design can solve everyday problems!". We sure toast to that and we would love to meet you all there. Novedgeand Autodesk are co-sponsors of this evening of discussions, networking , Good Design display and good food. Cheers!
Build a sandcastle at the Leap Sandcastle Building 101 Class. Sandcastle 101 will help Sandcastle enthusiasts of all ages apply their design and engineering skills to the medium of sand. Bring your own carving tools!
Playa game of Tag and join a short Scavenger Hunt throughout the Mission district's changing and often contentious urban landscapes. This tour will use mobile media as a means of play and allow everyday images to be part of a rich dialogue about urban public spaces. #SFOpenCity is the word. Start point Dolores Park. 
Envision The Grand Central Station of the West . The Transbay Transit Center Project will feature more than 11 acres of public parks and open space, including an Urban Ramp Park and the 5.4 acre rooftop City Park, creating engaging urban areas for thousands of people every day.
