AutoCAD 2015 is here and more: all this week's announcements to help you start the week the right way.
AutoCAD 2015 and more from Autodesk
Autodesk announced a number of new releases at the end of last week, from AutoCAD to 3ds Max 2015. For a complete list, click here.
Quick facts on the new release:
- Improvements in AutoCAD 2015 focus on modernity, productivity and connectivity
- New 2015 Autodesk Design Suites include one-click access to BIM 360.
- Softimage will be discountinued after the 2015 release
- This is the last year you can buy upgrades. Starting on February 1st, 2015, if you want to upgrade your Autodesk perpetual licenses, you will only be able to do it through either Maintenance or Desktop Subscriptions. I cannot stress enough how important it is to be on Maintenance Subscription if you plan on using Autodesk software for many years, as failing to do so could result in much higher costs. I hope to write a longer post on this soon, in the meantime, you can read more about it here.
Mechanical engineers, KOMPAS-3D V15 is for you. New features in this version include, among others, the ability to locate components into models, modeless model sections and layer groups in 3D.
