11 Things Not to Miss at Architecture and the City Festival
This year, San Francisco celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its very own architecture festival: Architecture and the City. This month there are over 40 events for lovers of all things architecture: from an art exhibit spanning four venues to a chance to build your very own castle.

If you don't have enough time to read about each and every event, no worries! I have chosen here the 11 very best things to do at the festival, so you can skip all the research and just go have fun. I tried to narrow the list down to 10 choices, but really, this festival program is so great that I had to add one extra event. So, take a break from your workaholic routine and celebrate living in one of the coolest cities in the world.
Here are my 11 hand-picked events not to miss:
9/04 Exploratorium at Piers 15/17 – Because your inner child never stops loving science experiments.
9/06 Unbuilt San Francisco Exhibition Opening – Mix and mingle before exploring one or all of the venues hosting this exhibit.
9/10 Who Designed That? For the first time, you get a chance to show off your knowledge of design in the following categories: architecture, objects, art, fashion, other. Get a team together now and remember: it's winning that really counts!
9/11 Inner Sunset: Birth of a Neighborhood – How long has it been since you have actually been in the Sunset? That's what I thought…I picked this event just for you, to remind you that the Sunset is still San Francisco 
9/14 Leap Sandcastle Building 101 Class – OK, I have to admit, this one was tough: sand castles or mini golf? In the end, I had to go with sand castles: perfect to show off your architectural skills.
9/17 Culinary Valencia Street – You go to the Mission all the time anyway, admit it! This time, though, please pay attention to the architecture.
9/18 Jefferson Mack Metal – This just sounds cool. And interesting. And probably something you would have overlooked. Take a chance and do something different.
9/20 PARK(ing) Day – This is why we live in San Francisco: a chance to blend art, activism and fun all at once. Enjoy.

9/25 The Human Scale + Meetup with Novedge and Archispeak – Join us at this free screening and come grab a drink afterwards to talk about architecture.
9/26 The Architects’ Forum – Great introduction to the upcoming Home Tours. And don't forget to network with fellow professionals.
09/28 Home Tours – I recommed going Saturday, to see Cary Bernstein's Hill House. Sunday looks pretty good too, though…
